“You will figure it out along the way” is NOT for everyone

Have you ever show confusion and frustration about life to someone, and they told you, “it’s ok, you’re still young; you will figure it out along the way.”?

They may have a positive intention, trying to comfort you and make you feel better; but they aren’t necessary doing you a favour.

You may NOT get it figured out your entire life!

It is evident when you look at older people- are they always wiser than those who’re younger?

Would you say, “Elon Musk is smarter than me because he is older than me”? No, am I right??

Life experiences don’t always “teach” you the right things

Most people only “learn” things through their life experiences, thinking that it’s the best source to do so.

It may work for some people; but not necessarily for you, and not always.

Some people are lucky enough to discover the truths to live by, but some became skewed in their thinking. For example, someone who has been frauded could think, “I trust people too easily. I have to brush up on my judgement skills.”, while another person could think, “Everyone is not trustworthy. They all just want my money!” Obviously, the first person comes to the “right conclusion”- i.e. that could lead him to live a better life, while the second person becomes traumatised and would live a more bitter life.

You may have always been the first person your past years; but you may or may not continue to extend that forever. At some point you may become person 2. You don’t know when; and when it comes, you don’t realise that you are traumatised instead of “learned new rules”. Because how can you differentiate?

You must learn.

Imperceptible influence: Engaging with people you want to be like

Although people may not be able to explicitly tell you how could you acquire their mindsets, merely being around them is sufficient have an effect on your mindset.

You become more alike to people you hang around with, aren’t you aware of that?

If no, start to observe from today. The way you talk, act, make decisions… Will become more and more alike as you spend more time with each other.

Have friends you want to be like.

Explicit learning: Taking ideas from the best content creators

Content creators are especially useful when you want to explicitly learn something.

Whether you want better academic results, people skills, or successful entrepreneurship.

With the internet, you can learn basically anything, and most of them for free.

With AI, you can get answers to basically any questions.

The best content creators are those who synthesised their knowledge and skills from tons of valid sources (e.g. peer reviewed research papers), and/or have repeatedly achieved personal success, showing that their success is not random, but stem from a foundation that allow them to replicate their success.

But the caveat here is to select the right materials to learn.

There are lots of bs out there. Most of the content actually make you worse, not better.

This is why you have to sharpen your mental teeth on critical decision making.

Try now!

What is the one thing that you’ve always been confused of, yet still haven’t “figured it out along the way”?

Is it how learning works? How interpersonal relationship works? How entrepreneurship works?

Start looking for the right people in real-life and on the internet and gain clarity for life!
